The Role
Moonshot Compost is hiring an Operations Manager to lead daily truck and driver operations across our Texas markets. This role is responsible for keeping routes running safely and efficiently, supporting
driver performance, and improving operational systems as we scale.
This is a hands-on leadership position combining real-time operations oversight, driver
management, routing optimization, and fleet reliability. As Moonshot grows, this role has a clear
path to expand into broader regional or field operations leadership.
Ideal candidates would be located in Dallas / Fort Worth or Houston.
Key Responsibilities
● Monitor daily operations using Samsara and routing tools to ensure safe, on-time route
execution.
● Oversee driver schedules, inspections, clock-ins/clock-outs, and operational compliance.
● Work with an outside recruiter on driver hiring.
● Lead driver onboarding, coaching, ride-alongs, and weekly performance touchpoints.
● Analyze route and fuel data to improve efficiency across Houston, Austin, and Dallas.
● Manage fleet maintenance, licensing, insurance, and safety programs.
● Coordinate new customer launches, operational issues, and service adjustments.
● Track operational KPIs and support invoicing accuracy.
● Build weekly route schedules and manage real-time exceptions.
● Conduct monthly visits to company hubs in Austin, Dallas / Fort Worth, and Houston and
maintain consistent standards across markets.
Schedule Expectations
● Early-morning operational oversight, on-call from 6:00 - 8:00 am, regular schedule from
8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
● Afternoon operational follow-ups, as needed.
● Hybrid remote / in-field role with travel to Texas hubs.
Qualifications
● Experience managing drivers, fleet logistics, and field operations.1
● Strong organizational skills and comfort working with operational technology (Samsara,
routing platforms, etc.).
● Ability to lead distributed teams and solve problems quickly.
● Clear communicator who can work effectively with drivers, leadership, and customers.

Compensation
Base Salary: $75000 - $85000 per year + Bonus
