Folk Design Group is a multi-unit retail company operating 20+ Great Clips hair salons in the Philadelphia region. We are hiring a hands-on HR Manager / HR Generalist to support our field leaders and salon teams across all core HR functions.
This role is ideal for someone who can balance employee relations, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employee data in ADP Workforce Now, working together with other administrative and recruiting resources
- Support payroll processes, benefits administration, and 401(k) coordination
- Partner with General Managers and salon managers on employee relations, coaching, and performance management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by completing required statutory filings (EEO, Unemployment Claims, Workers Comp)
- Administer leave programs (FMLA, state leave, accommodations)
- Maintain accurate HR records and support audits (I-9, wage & hour)
- Run and analyze HR reports (turnover, retention, payroll metrics)
- Continuous improvement of HR processes through targeted projects and initiatives
- Create, maintain, and deliver company-specific training materials
- Assist with employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
- Plan and execute selected company events and meetings
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR Generalist or HR Manager experience
- Experience supporting multi-location, retail, hospitality, or service teams strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance in the states in which we operate (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland)
- Experience handling employee relations issues independently
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with frontline and leadership teams

Schedule & Work Environment
