Position Summary
Haystack Health is seeking a Vice President of Commercial to lead our growth with health plans and value-based care organizations. You will personally advance key commercial opportunities while shaping our go-to-market through scale. Reporting to the CEO, you will guide prospective customers from early conversations through signed agreements, serving as a trusted advisor to health plan executives navigating the intersection of member engagement and cost management. You'll connect Haystack's unique value proposition to the priorities of buyers across commercial health plans, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, self-insured employers, and marketplace segments. The right candidate thrives in early-stage environments, is energized by consultative selling to senior executives, and wants to build a category-defining business with a growing, high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead Haystack's commercial growth, including developing new customer relationships and expanding existing health plan accounts.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of business development opportunities with health plans and value-based care organizations.
- Guide prospective customers end-to-end - from initial outreach and discovery through contracting and implementation handoff.
- Build, coach, and lead a high-performing commercial team as Haystack's market presence grows.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers across payer organizations, connecting their strategic priorities to Haystack's capabilities.
- Work closely with product, marketing, and clinical operations to sharpen positioning, inform the product roadmap, and ensure customers succeed after signing.
- Represent Haystack as a commercial leader at industry conferences and events.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in health plan and/or value-based care sales or business development, with a strong track record of commercial growth with health plans.
- Proven ability to sell complex solutions to senior and executive-level buyers at health plans and value-based care organizations.
- Strong network across health plans and value-based care organizations.
- Deep understanding of health plan operations and the payer landscape across commercial, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, self-insured employer, and marketplace segments.
- Comfortable operating in an early-stage environment - energized by the opportunity to shape Haystacks go-to-market through scale.
- Excellent communication and presence, with the ability to explain technical and clinical concepts in business terms for non-technical audiences.
- Experience developing and leading commercial teams.
- Experience leveraging newer AI-driven tools to enhance GTM.
- Familiarity with clinical trials, life sciences, or healthcare innovation is a plus but not required.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, remote position. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and includes equity participation and a comprehensive company-sponsored benefits package. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work East Coast business hours to align with team operations.
