We’re actively seeking a skilled Senior Web Applications Programmer in our Software department that will ultimately contribute to our mission of working with our family of customers to provide the very best products and support while creating a successful long-term partnership. We are looking for a programmer who can pragmatically plan, design, and deliver great applications and functionality, with an eye to the future. This is an engineering and development position, not a web page/website design position.
This full-time position is based at Amtelco’s corporate headquarters in McFarland, WI and reports to our VP of Software Development and Team Lead. Determined by your director, the benefit of a hybrid workplace model occurs at different times for each employee based on job performance.
How will I make an impact?
- Work independently and collaboratively with the web applications development team to develop browser-based versions of Amtelco’s communications applications
- Participate in the design, architecture, and implementation of many different server/client-based applications that support our Web products platform
- Optimize the applications for maximum speed and scalability to support 100s of users simultaneously
- Integration of the front-end and back-end aspects of the web application
- Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value of service to clients
- Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities
- Maintain up-to-date records of all software development activities in the department’s feature and defect tracking software
- Create and maintain discrete versions of all code produced
- Participate in code reviews with the web applications development team members and with senior software engineers
- Conduct functionality, integrity, and security testing on all code produced as a step in the software development process
- Work with the software documentation team to develop system administration and user-reference guides and on-line help files
- Participate in customer calls when needed (e.g., perform demos, troubleshoot, discuss future enhancements/developments)
- Assist the field engineering team in troubleshooting customer-reported issues
- Other duties as assigned
What does success look like in this role?
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate degree required, with an emphasis in software engineering and development
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- Sound knowledge of Visual Studio, C++, C# and VB.NET
- Knowledge of one or more of the following web technologies expected: Angular, HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Knockout, ASP.NET, JSON
- Strong understanding of MS SQL, Web Forms, web REST API, and MVC
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Lean methodologies
- Great problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking abilities
- Reliable with a professional attitude and great communication skills
- Experience in an answering service or healthcare environment helpful
