Overview
McGuireWoods’ Financial Services Litigation Group is seeking a Case Assistant to join its team in San Francisco. Historically, this position has been filled by a recent college graduate who is interested in attending law school. A two-year commitment is requested. A strong candidate for this position is highly organized, has superb written and verbal communication skills, has a high degree of discretion, and is eager to learn.

Responsibilities
- Performs basic factual research and investigation related to client matters and other due diligence as appropriate, utilizing LEXIS, Westlaw, or other relevant research platforms.
- Collects, organizes and maintains documents and files related to legal matters, including documents received from the client, opposing parties or other sources.
- Manages calendars, docket and tickler systems, and assists in meeting deadlines.
- Organizes, labels and files electronic and hard copies of case materials as directed.
- Researches and retrieves documents from case management systems (CaseMap, FileSite, eRoom, Pacer, and Relativity) as requested.
- Maintains and organizes supplies to support client matters, including distribution of supplies and case files for special projects/events such as trial and on-site document reviews, collections and productions.
- Maintains and retrieves case files as requested and prepares closed matters for off-site storage.
- Coordinates with case team and the e-discovery vendor on all aspects of data collection, production, and electronic file management.
- Assists attorneys and Senior Paralegals in coordinating the document review team/schedule.
- Organizes exhibits and witness files pre/post deposition.
- Assists with document collection and maintaining e-rooms.
- Processes production letters and other case correspondence and pleadings.
- Organizes document productions and prepares indices of document productions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and strong academic record.
- Excellent technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate filing skills.
