MIJO is looking for an Associate Creative Director to lead key accounts, elevate the work, and help push the agency forward.
This is a social-first creative role for someone who can concept, shape, and move ideas forward without waiting around for perfect conditions. You care less about labels and more about setting a clear vision and bringing it to life. You know how to build strong ideas, push them through execution, and help other creatives do their best work too. Your portfolio shows it.
We want someone with agency experience, strong instincts, and a bias toward making. Someone who can operate at high velocity, handle high volume, and still care deeply about craft.
What you’ll do
- Lead and develop social-first creative across Instagram, TikTok, and X
- Concept campaigns, content systems, and fast-turn social ideas
- Write, direct, review, and refine creative with a high bar for quality
- Work closely with designers, editors, animators, strategists, and clients
- Give clear feedback, manage creatives, and contribute as a player-coach leader
- Jump into shoots, reviews, presentations, and working sessions as needed
You might be a fit if you:
- Have minimum 5–7 years of experience in a creative role at an agency
- Have a clear strength in copywriting or art direction, but can think across both
- Have led social-first campaigns or owned day-to-day creative for a brand’s social presence
- Have deep experience developing on-brand, on-strategy ideas from a creative brief
- Know how to build a compelling pitch deck that creates alignment and excitement around an idea
- Have been on set, but also have the instinct to shoot it yourself or figure out how to get an idea made
- Know what performs on social without defaulting to trend chasing
- Not scared away by creative strategy for performance marketing, ie Meta Andromeda, creative diversification, UGC, creator ads etc.
- Have managed creatives before, or had direct reports, and want to keep growing as a player-coach leader
- Are self-directed and can move work forward without constant oversight
- Are comfortable working fast, often across multiple workstreams at once
- Have experience collaborating with designers, video editors, and animators
- Are strong collaborators with client teams and high-profile stakeholders, and can advocate for the agency’s creative direction while creating space for the best idea to win
- Are based in NYC and available for a hybrid working style that includes time in-office, on set, and at client locations
