A food client of mine is hiring for a VP of Operations based out of their site in Memphis, TN! Relocation assistance can be provided.
Responsibilities:
Site Leadership
- Act as the senior operational leader for assigned distribution centers, with full accountability for site performance.
- Report directly to regional operations leadership, with a collaborative, dotted‑line relationship to area business leaders.
- Oversee operational integration and alignment across multiple facilities within the region.
Strategic Planning & Direction
- Define long-term operational goals aligned with broader business strategy.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for distribution operations.
- Coordinate activities among shipping, receiving, transportation, procurement, and sales to ensure unified performance and shared accountability.
- Contribute to the development of overall goals for the distribution network.
Operational Performance & Profitability
- Plan, organize, and direct operational functions to achieve efficiency and profitability targets.
- Maintain strong control of inventory accuracy, loss prevention, accident reduction, and overall safety metrics.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and operational enhancements.
- Implement best practices and new methods to elevate productivity and customer service.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal standards.
- Lead safety, security, maintenance, and ergonomic programs across the facilities.
- Promote a culture of safety and proactively manage risk mitigation efforts.
People Leadership & Policy Administration
- Delegate responsibilities to management teams to achieve performance and productivity goals.
- Interpret and enforce company policies related to safety, conduct, and operations.
- Guide and coach managers in workforce management, performance oversight, and employee engagement.
- Create performance improvement plans, provide corrective action when needed, and identify training and development opportunities.
