Company Description
Aldwyn is a kids' wear company built to expand the lifecycle of clothing by making purchase, return, repair, and resale simple and frictionless, while keeping items out of landfills.
We've designed both the product and the platform to make circularity seamless. The product: garments crafted to last — simple construction for easy repair, durable materials made for resale. The platform: buying, returning, and repurchasing designed to feel intuitive from the first click.
Product and system are inseparable.
We are currently pre-raise and assembling a senior founding team ahead of our first institutional capital round.
Role Description
The Creative Director & Head of Story will define and steward Aldwyn’s brand identity across product, digital, and community touch points.
This role is responsible for shaping how the brand is expressed visually and narratively — ensuring that circularity is communicated as a coherent system and a lived community experience rather than a marketing message.
Working closely with the Director of Product Design and the CEO, this leader will help establish Aldwyn’s creative standards prior to launch and guide their evolution as the company scales.
In the early stage, the founding leadership team will work closely and collaboratively. Post-launch and post-raise, this role will operate laterally at the senior leadership level as the broader organization expands.
Core Responsibilities
The Creative Director & Head of Story will be responsible for:
- Defining and evolving Aldwyn’s brand voice, narrative framework, and storytelling pillars
- Establishing visual identity standards across web, product storytelling, packaging, and launch materials
- Ensuring alignment between product design and brand expression
- Directing early editorial photography and creative assets
- Developing storytelling around archive inventory and returned garments
- Designing and nurturing community rituals around return, repair, and reworn participation
- Building and maintaining aesthetic consistency as the brand scales
This role is strategic and hands-on, with responsibility for both creative direction and implementation during the pre-launch phase.
Qualifications
- Experience leading brand identity and creative direction within an early-stage or growth-stage company
- Strong editorial sensibility and ability to translate a clear point of view into cohesive creative systems
- Demonstrated experience developing visual identity standards across multiple channels
- Comfort working in early-stage environments with evolving structure
- Alignment with sustainability principles embedded in product systems
Preferred experience:
- Apparel, lifestyle, or DTC brand experience
- Experience launching or re-positioning a brand
- Familiarity with circular or resale-based business models
