ABOUT THE ROLE
Kaleidoscope Video is expanding its freelancer pool to support our "always-on" video podcasts covering science and technology. We are seeking talented, adaptable video editors to turn raw footage and audio into polished, engaging episodes at a best-in-class standard.
Whether you are a Junior, Middle, or Senior editor, you should have a keen eye for narrative pacing and brand consistency to help our ideas come to life on YouTube, social media, and beyond.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Asset Management: Ingest, organize, and manage raw video and audio files.
- Creative Contribution: Make effective decisions regarding story flow, pacing, and music placement to maximize viewer engagement.
- Brand Consistency: Apply standardized visual and audio templates, including intros/outros, lower thirds, and music beds.
- Multi-Platform Delivery: Deliver final, mixed, export-ready files optimized for various distribution platforms and social cutdowns.
- Technical Excellence: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to video, audio, and color correction.
YOU’D BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU...
- Have proven proficiency with industry-standard editing software
- Possess demonstrable experience editing long-form video content - podcast experience a plus.
- Have excellent communication and time management skills to handle multiple episodes under tight deadlines.
- Are skilled at Aftereffects or other animation tools
