Job Summary:
The in vivo biology group at Contineum Therapeutics is currently seeking a Sr. Scientist to join our drug discovery and development team in San Diego. This is a hands-on position with responsibility for the development and execution of in vivo studies focused on evaluating the efficacy of drug candidates. Studies are focused on a broad range of neuroscience, immunology, and inflammatory (NI&I) conditions, including but not limited to neurodegeneration, systemic fibrosis, and peripheral neuropathies. The successful candidate will have expertise in all aspects of in vivo pharmacology and biology and be a strong team player who enjoys scientific discovery and can communicate well in an interdisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, conduct, and manage experiments related to the discovery of novel candidates
- Design and conduct PK/PD experiments
- Conduct mechanistic studies related to biological targets of interest using in vitro and ex vivo approaches
- Create and establish novel and pharmaceutical industry-standard in vivo models of conditions related to NI&I
- Manage and analyze experimental data, write internal reports, and present experimental results at scientific conferences and internal meetings
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biology, Neuroscience, Physiology, Pharmacology, or related discipline
- 1-3 years industry experience
- Expertise in conducting basic in vivo procedures, such as drug administration, blood collection, and animal handling and care
- Experience with data management and presentation, experimental design, and data analysis methods
- Ability to work independently in a team environment and be flexible in adapting to change
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Benefits
We offer a competitive total compensation package, as well as working in a supportive team environment. The anticipated salary range for candidates is $138,000- $145,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc.
